Despite the fact that it has been over a year since Brexit, industries throughout the UK (and indeed the EU) are still adjusting to the vast changes that have occurred, and further changes are yet to come!

If you follow us on social media, you will likely have seen our posts on the issues that have faced the freight industry. From port delays to driver shortages, ongoing trade talks that have left uncertainty and even a cargo ship stranded in the Suez Canal, the industry has had a lot to contend with over the past few years.

Of course, COVID-19 has not helped matters, with freight hauliers required to undergo testing depending on the current restrictions of each country, not to mention the contrasting restrictions from country to country.

This has results industry-wide supply chain issues and delays for those importing and exporting.

Brexit changes in 2022

One of our recent articles has outlined forthcoming changes to Brexit regulations throughout 2022, highlighting that freight forwarders, as well as those looking to import and export over the coming months, will have to further adapt their processes.

For the Grace Overseas team, we have been preparing for Brexit changes for many years, to ensure that we are able to seamlessly adapt, and provide our expert guidance to our clients. Our approach to this has worked incredibly well, ensuring that client cargo has reached its destination within an EU country with limited disruption.

Whilst we were not immune to the further issues facing the industry (i.e. COVID restrictions), we are very lucky to have a dedicated team, not to mention agents throughout ports worldwide, to keep supply chains moving for our clients.

If you are still trying to navigate changes to importing and exporting processes following Brexit, contact the team at Grace today for more information on how we can support you moving forward.
