The world’s leading liner shipping companies have announced the introduction EBS – Emergency Bunker Surcharge, these surcharges are imposed on top of existing bunker surcharges. The new surcharges by shipping lines come in response to rising fuel costs, which hit liner profits in the first quarter. One shipping line reported the bunker prices in Europe had now reached their highest level since 2014.
Therefore, we must apply EBS and this will be applicable from 4th June 2018 as follows:
Emergency Bunker Surcharge costs
FCL movements at $55.00 per TEU
LCL movements at USD 4.00 w/m EUR 3.50 w/m GBP 3.50 w/m
Currency will be in line with the ocean freight – charges are w/m & minimum.
This charge may change in the future, in line with global developments and further announcements by shipping lines. We will notify you accordingly.
