Founded in Manchester in 1985, Grace Overseas was built on the close relationships we forged within the local freight forwarding industry, which has seen us grow into the successful global enterprise we are today.

But four decades later, we haven’t lost our community values. After all, with founders Peter and Veronica Cooney’s daughter Sarah Taylor at the helm, we remain a family business at heart!

But did you know that we also champion grassroots and local sports organisations? In fact, we’re proud supporters of Ramsbottom Cricket Academy and sponsor teams from Under 9’s to Under 18’s, Women & Girls, and the Mixed team.

Our Managing Director, Sarah has always been a keen supporter of cricket, and with her son, Harry being a star member of the Ramsbottom Under 13s cricket team, and our Commercial Manager Brian in his position of coach, it was a clear choice to support the academy.

Now covering members from ages 6 to 18, the academy has grown to accommodate over 70 participants and over 180 members! We’re proud to be able to help with this addition of more age groups and leagues, not to mention extra equipment, by donating funds and the voluntary time and effort from Brian as coach.

As the academy has grown, so have the opportunities for the young boys and girls who take part. Many now play for District, Lancashire Interleague and Lancashire County Cricket teams, representing Ramsbottom Cricket Club, as well as the Grace Overseas brand, and we’re incredibly proud as a business to sponsor them.

The support that we’ve provided has also seen the Ramsbottom women and girls’ membership grow to one of the largest in the North West – a number that is expected to grow as local interest in the sport continues!

We look forward to continuing our support for the Ramsbottom Junior Academy next year, and in addition to the ongoing team sponsorship, and Brian as coach, Sarah also recently stepped into the role of Chair of the Academy.

“We are looking forward to watching the future stars of cricket develop and grow and supporting them as a business for a long time to come.” – Sarah Taylor, MD at Grace Overseas.

In addition to our involvement with Ramsbottom Cricket Club, we’re proud to champion other sports organisations including Eccles RFC, where this season, we are official sponsors of player, Dylan Perfect. As Grace Overseas founder, Peter Cooney was such an avid rugby supporter, this has been a natural partnership for us, and we’re excited to see how the season progresses.

Finally, we’re also keen supporters of a range of charities, both locally and further afield. Whether it’s donating much-needed supplies to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK – an organisation that’s close to our hearts – or fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan Cancer support, we’re proud to do our bit for our community.
