Last week saw the Grace Overseas team celebrate 100 years of the Chemical Business Association at their annual Chemical Supply Chain Awards!

Taking place at the impressive Concord Conference Centre at Manchester Airport, the Grace Overseas logo proudly adorned the iconic concord while guests enjoyed an evening packed with awards and entertainment.

We were thrilled to sponsor the drinks reception alongside other event sponsors, including the Department for Business and Trade, Alcohols Ltd, Alfa Chemicals, Higgi Ltd, Cogent Skills Ltd, Airedale Group, Generation Logistics, Ricardo and the Trade Association Forum.

As well as marking this milestone anniversary with other industry leaders and members of the Chemical Business Association, the evening highlighted 30 years of the CBA’s involvement in the Responsible Care Programme. A global initiative, Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s commitment to continual improvement in health, safety, security and environmental performance. In the UK, it covers the whole of the chemical supply chain – from manufacturers, through to distributors and logistics companies such as Grace Overseas.

Having been members of the CBA since 2021, we were delighted that for the first time joining, Grace Overseas were also shortlisted for three awards this year:

> Logistics Service Member of the Year

> Make a Difference Award

> Community Engagement Award

In line with the CBA’s commitment to sustainable practices and Responsible Care, the awards were made from recycled acrylics and off-cuts from the signage industry, otherwise destined for landfill sites.

And while we were just pipped to the post, our team were delighted to be ‘highly commended’ in the Community Engagement category, thanks to our work supporting Ramsbottom Cricket Club, and other sporting and community initiatives, which you can read about here. The CBA noted:

“The judges were delighted to see Grace Overseas’ past and ongoing commitment to young people particularly in sports.”

Congratulations to all the nominees and worthy winners, with special thanks to Tim Duggett and the team at the CBA, along with our fellow sponsors, for such a fantastic event. Head here full list of award nominees and winners.
